THE DV-SAFE INITIATIVE
Empowering Survivors. Protecting Community

Domestic Violence Doesn’t Stop at the Front Door
At Love Without Violence, Inc. (LWoV), we understand that domestic violence (DV) doesn’t stay confined to a home. It follows survivors into every corner of their lives, including their jobs, classrooms, community spaces, and more.
Too often, workplaces are unprepared to identify, address, or protect against DV-related risks, leaving employees, clients, and even customers vulnerable.
That’s why we launched the DV-Safe Initiative: a first-of-its-kind effort in Massachusetts dedicated to helping organizations build safer workplaces and service environments.
The DV-Safe Initiative is a training and certification program that helps employers:
What is DV-Safe?
Recognize the signs of domestic violence in the workplace
Create policies that protect personal data and prevent access by abusers
Support employees and clients experiencing abuse
Foster a culture of safety, respect, and compassion
Organizations that complete the DV-Safe training receive a DV-Safe Employer Certification and are listed in our public DV-Safe Employer Database. A growing directory of trusted, survivor-conscious workplaces across Massachusetts.
Who Benefits?
Everyone.
Employees gain confidence knowing their workplace understands the risks and provides resources, privacy, and support.
Customers and clients, especially those from vulnerable populations, feel safer engaging with businesses that prioritize privacy, safety and trauma-informed practices.
Employers create stronger teams, reduce liability, and build trust with the communities they serve.
Over 50% of DV survivors say their abuse followed them to work.
